Will I get cheated?The internet provides you with a wealth of information and with one of the best communication mediums to make trading on the web. With the click of the mouse, the Internet allows you to book hotel, buy computer accessories, book a cinema ticket, etc. As always, internet is a big threat to all beginners of internet users. Still, there are many people lost their money on the web by dealing with some cheaters who claimed they are legal or licensed seller.
Therefore, I’m going to show you a few tips to prevent being cheated on the internet.

Determine their reliability by knowing their background

Try looking for the “about” page which explain the background of the websites themselves, so that you get to know who they are. If they do provide toll-free phone numbers, don’t be hesitate to call them to ensure they are really exist and available.

People’s opinion about the company that you’re dealing with

comments forums, picture from www.atlassian.comThis can be done either by asking people in community sites such as forums, blogs, etc. The best way is to search the company’s name via Google and look for evidences or comments provided by people who had deal with them before. You can also email and ask for comments from companies that are linked together with the one you’re dealing with.

Impact of Google Pagerank

google-pagerankAnother optional way is to see their websites’ pagerank. Important and famous websites would have higher pagerank. Pagerank is given by Google for all websites to determine how important a website is. It is calculated by referring the quantity and quality of external link. It’s quite a good way to see whether you are dealing with a common and famous company or not.
To see the pagerank of websites, you have to download and install Google Toolbar.
